Wadood Shines at Combine

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defensive back Jaleel Wadood is one of the top players in the West Coast junior class and had another standout performance last weekend at the Junior Rank combine at the Home Depot Center.

Jaleel Wadood is an elite talent and was one of the state's top defensive backs this past season. He played safety but will likely make the move to corner in college as his frame is much better suited to play the corner position. He made a ton of plays at the Junior Rank combine and should see his recruitment take off in the spring.

"I had a real good time out here," Wadood said following the combine. "I got a lot of reps in the one on ones and it was real competitive out there with some good receivers. I wanted to put my name out there, get some work in and I had a lot of fun for sure, it was a great experience for me."

On the recruiting front, Wadood has the same three scholarship offers he has had for some time now but is hearing from a few more programs outside the region.

"It's still Arizona State, Oregon State and Colorado," Wadood said. "I'm also hearing from Boise State, Washington, Arizona, Florida, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Tennessee and a few others. I'm planning to do the local camps at USC and UCLA and maybe Arizona as well. I also might take a visit to Washington.

"Right now, my leaders are the schools that are showing me the most interest. When a school shows you love, it only makes sense to show them love back so the schools that have offered me and have been on me for a while are the ones I like but I'm open to everyone. I'm going to go through the process and don't plan to shut anyone out right now."
