On Monday, Fitts confirmed to FOX Sports NEXT that he will be taking his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. The lineman is one of three former Trojan commits taking the visit; the others are receiver Sebastian LaRue and defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes.
Fitts hasn't nailed down his visit plans for February 1st quite yet. Though he initially planned on taking his final visit to Oregon, the departure of head coach Chip Kelly has Fitts thinking that he may actually end up visiting Utah, instead.
The athlete, who opened up his recruitment after no longer having early enrollee status at USC, did recently have an in-home visit with defensive line coach Ed Orgeron, who was apologetic about the difficult situation.
Fitts, who graduated in December and could join a program as early as March (should the school he signs with be on the quarter system), plans to announce his decision on Signing Day, Wednesday, February 6th.
Though he suffered a season-ending injury to his wrist, Fitts has healed from his surgery and received doctor's permission to begin full work outs this week.
