2014 Prospects: Offense

It's just a matter of hours after Signing Day, but it's time to start looking toward the 2014 Recruiting Class. Here's a list of UCLA's early prospects...

UCLA will be targeting one quarterback in the class of 2014.

Kyle Allen, 6-2, 195, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain
National Position Ranking: 4, UCLA Offer
-- A pro-style type, UCLA clearly has Allen as a top early target. ASU is going to pull out all stops.

Brandon Dawkins, 6-4, 215, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
National Position Ranking: 9
-- Dawkins has everything you want – size, arm strength and athleticism. Notre Dame and Utah have offered.

Manny Wilkins, 6-3, 185, Novata (Calif.) San Marin
National Position Ranking: 12
-- Wilkins is a great athlete that UCLA has already gone to see.

Others to Watch:
Jalen Greene, 6-2, 190, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Eban Jackson, 6-1, 165, Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne
Brad Kaaya, 6-4, 208, West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade
Morgan Mahalak, 6-3, 190, Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic
Foster Sawyer, 6-5, 215, Forth Worth (Tex.) All Saints Episcopal
Cody Lui-Yuen, 6-3, 180, Kapolei (Hawaii)
David Cornwell, 6-5, 215, Norman (Okla.) Norman North

Depending on the fate of Craig Lee, and whether he eventually enrolls at UCLA, the Bruins could be after not just one but two tailbacks for 2014.

Nathan Starks, 6-0, 190, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
National Position Ranking: 3, UCLA Offer
-- Big, strong and quick, Starks could end up a safety. He'll be a top national target.

Joe Mixon, 6-1, 195, Oakley (Calif.) Freedom
National Position Ranking: 20, UCLA Offer
-- UCLA recently offered Mixon, who has offers from around the country and looks to be a national prospect. He likes UCLA quite a bit and was waiting on the offer.

Nick Wilson, 5-11, 195, Fresno (Calif.) Central East
National Position Ranking: 23
-- Wilson is emerging as one of the best ball carriers in the west for 2014, getting some early Pac-12 offers. Going to the same school as UCLA signee Johnny Johnson won't hurt.

Demario Richard, 5-10, 175, Palmdale (Calif.)
UCLA Offer
-- Richard is a quick, speedy type that UCLA has offered, seeing him fit in that smaller, scatback role. He likes UCLA.

Chris Leggett, 5-10, 195, Alpharetta (Georgia) Chattahoochee
UCLA Offer
-- UCLA has offered Leggett and actually stopped in to see him on one of their recent trips to Georgia.

Others to Watch:
D.J. Riggins, 5-11, 180, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Rashad Penny, 6-0, 185, Norwalk (Calif.)
Jomon Dotson, 6-0, 175, American Canyon (Calif.)
Christian McCaffrey, 6-0, 190, Highlands Ranch (Col.) Valor Christian

With UCLA missing on a couple of 2013 receivers, and the UCLA offense needing a big number of receivers, expect UCLA to be going after a good number of them for 2014.

Michiah Quick, 5-11, 175, Fresno (Calif.) Central East
National Position Ranking: 1, UCLA Offer
-- Quick is one of the top priorities in the 2014 class for UCLA, and for many programs around the country. UCLA obviously has good connections at Central East. UCLA is among early leaders.

Malachi Dupre, 6-3, 175, River Ridge (Louisiana) John Curtis Christian
National Position Ranking: 3, UCLA Offer
-- Dupre is a big target in the SEC, but encouragingly, he likes UCLA and intends to come to UCLA's Meet-and-Greet on Saturday, February 9th.

Jalen Brown, 6-2, 175, Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe
National Position Ranking: 7, UCLA Offer
-- Already with offers from around the country, coming off a big junior season, Brown's recruitment is going to be a big one. Hopefully high school teammate Kenny Lacy, a UCLA 2013 signee, can help. He could end up at safety.

Mark Andrews, 6-6, 220, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain
National Ranking: 10, UCLA Offer
-- The other half of the pass/catch duo with quarterback Kyle Allen, Andrews is collecting early offers. He could end up a tight end, but he's good enough that you can play him in multiple spots.

Jacob McCrary, 6-0, 175, Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef
National Position Ranking: 41
-- McCrary is getting recruiting hard already by the SEC, but UCLA has shown a good deal of interest and he's responded.

Juju Smith, 6-1, 185, Long Beach Poly
UCLA Offer
-- A long talented athlete, Smith had a big junior season, and garnered some offers, particularly from UCLA. Might project as a safety. He could be coming this Saturday to campus.

Jeff Farrar, 6-1, 193, Upland (Calif.)
-- Farrar wants to commit, but it's a matter of UCLA formally offering after reviewing academics.

Cameron Denson, 6-1, 170, Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe
National Position Ranking: 8, UCLA Offer
-- Committed to Arizona, but UCLA will continue to recruit him.

Armani Watts, 5-11, 185, Forney (Tex.) North Forney
UCLA Offer
-- UCLA has a connection into Forney and offered him early, before the big programs in Texas have.

Others to Watch:
Rahshead Johnson, 5-11, 175, Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan. Committed to Washington.
Alex Van Dyke, 6-4, 200, Elk Grove (Calif.) Consumes Oaks
Jalen Harvey, 6-0, 175, El Cerrrito (Calif.)
Zaire Andre, 6-0, 175, Inglewood (Calif.)
Alexander Egurbide, 6-5, 190, Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake
Donovan Lee, 5-9, 170, West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade

UCLA is looking pretty good at the position, but it will undoubtedly bring in at least one Y.

Tyler Luatua, 6-4, 215, La Mirada (Calif.)
National Position Ranking: 1, UCLA Offer
-- He'll be a big recruiting battle. UCLA has a good chance, but he has a brother at Alabama and was a USC fan growing up.

Koda Martin, 6-6, 235, Manvel (Tex.)
National Position Ranking: 9, UCLA Offer
-- There is a UCLA connection, but it will tough to get him away from Texas A&M or Oklahoma.

Bryce Dixon, 6-4, 220, Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure
National Position Ranking: 10, UCLA Offer
-- He has an offer from Ohio State and Pac-12, and UCLA wants him.

Others to Watch:
Daniel Helm, 6-4, 220, Chatham (Ill.) Glenwood
Zack Bornstein, 6-4, 210, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Darrell Cloy, 6-3, 220, La Habra (Calif.)

After taking 7 OLs for 2013, in 2014 they'll probably only take 3 or 4.

Natrell Curtis, 6-2, 300, Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe
National Position Ranking: 6
-- A teammate of Kenny Lacy, Curtis is high on UCLA, even though Bruins haven't offered. He has offers from some big-time programs and, once UCLA offers, they could be among leaders. Offer is expected soon.

Viane Talamaivao, 6-3, 290, Corona (Calif.) Centennial
National Position Ranking: 8, UCLA Offer
-- If you had to guess of the first commit from an OL this season, it'd be Talamaivao. He's been to many UCLA games and will be on campus Saturday.

Jordan Poland, 6-8, 335, La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day
National Position Ranking: 3, UCLA Offer
-- A USC commit, UCLA is recruiting and, you know, there's always now a chance of a USC-to-UCLA flip.

Nifae Lealao, 6-5, 275, Sacramento (Calif.) Capital Christian
National Position Ranking: 6 (DE), UCLA Offer
-- A big early UCLA target, he also plays defensive end but projects as an offensive tackle.

Demetrius Knox, 6-4, 305, Fort Worth (Tex.) All Saints' Episcopal
National Position Ranking: 2, UCLA Offer
-- He's committed to Texas, but UCLA is trying. The Bruins have a connection to the high school, where T.J. Millweard played.

Others to Watch:
Jarred Dorton, 6-7, 320, Bakersfield (Calif.) North
Damien Mama, 6-5, 340, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
Toa Lobendahn, 6-5, 285, Lakewood (Calif.) USC Commit
Larry Allen, 6-3, 250, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle
Austin Hall, 6-6, 295, Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep
Andrew Mike, 6-7, 270, Tucson (Ariz.)Sabino
Layth Friekh, 6-5, 260, Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial
