Jordan McLaughlin, 6-0 JR PG Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Etiwanda, ranks among the elite point guards in the country. An explosive athlete, McLaughlin has the whole package for the position. He's got good quickness, excellent ball skills, a good feel for the game, and the ability to create for himself or his teammates.

I spoke with McLaughlin recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been recruiting him.

"UCLA, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, San Diego State, UConn and New Mexico have been showing a lot of attention," said McLaughlin. "They've all offered except for Indiana and UConn."

McLaughlin said he has no leader and he's wide open right now. I asked him if he has a sense for which schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"UCLA, San Diego State and Arizona," said McLaughlin.

When asked about the factors that will influence his choice, McLaughlin said, "The style of play, the staff and how I fit into their system will be the main things. The location doesn't matter to me."

I asked McLaughlin if he has any schools in mind yet for official visits.

"I'll probably use the official visits on the East Coast schools," said McLaughlin. "Kansas, UConn and Indiana. I've been on unofficial visits to UCLA, USC and Arizona."

I asked McLaughlin if his parents have a preference when it comes to college.

"No, just wherever I'm happiest," said McLaughlin.

McLaughlin said he's not close to making a decision.

"I'm going to wait until my senior year," said McLaughlin.
