Bailey Has Three Leaders

Isaiah Bailey, 6-5 JR SG/SF Compton (Calif.) High, is one of the elite athletes in the west for 2014. Bailey has all the physical tools to be a big-time player, but does need to work on his ball skills and ability to create his own shot. With continued development, he has a chance to be one of the top prospects in the class out west.

I spoke with Bailey recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"Oklahoma, Gonzaga, USC, UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona and UConn have been the main ones," said Bailey.

When asked if he has a leader at this time, Bailey replied, "Gonzaga, Arizona and Oregon State."

I asked Bailey if he has a sense of which school has been recruiting him the hardest.

"I'd say Gonzaga," said Bailey.

Bailey has been on an unofficial visit to USC and said he may take some more trips.

"After the playoffs are done I might visit some more schools," said Bailey. "But I don't have anything set up right now."

I asked Bailey if he has a time frame for making his choice.

"After the summer," said Bailey. "I want to play through the summer and then see what schools are on me."

I asked Bailey which people in his support circle will be helping him with the decision.

"My coach and parents will be the people I talk with about it," said Bailey.

Bailey said he will be playing with the Compton Magic in the spring and summer, along with his high school team which plays as Team Compton.
