DL Ainuu Taua to Camp at UCLA

Lompoc (Calif.) defensive tackle Ainuu Taua talks about USC's Junior Day this past weekend and announces that he'll camp at UCLA this year...

Ainuu Taua is one of the region's top prospects, regardless of position and is a two-time all-state underclass selection. He's about as physical and nasty a lineman as you'll see and plays with very good explosiveness and raw power as well.

Scholarship offers have come in from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Ole Miss, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington. The lineman attended USC's Junior Day on Sunday hoping to add an offer from the Trojans to the mix.

"USC was cool, I liked it there," Taua said. "My parents came with me and they loved it there. The new facilities are incredible and I liked the coaches a lot. I really wanted an offer from them but that didn't happen.

"I'm not going to let it get me down, I'm going to use it as motivation. I'm going to camp with them in the summer, prove myself there and hopefully get an offer at that time. I know they took another defensive tackle who is pretty similar to me and I'm not sure how many more tackles they're going to take but I have no problem earning a spot."

Taua will attend a few other camps and wants to take all of his official visits before making his decision.

"I'm also going to camp with UCLA and Washington and I'll be at the NIKE Camp in two weeks," Taua said. "I really want to make The Opening so I'm looking forward to that NIKE Camp and showing what I can do.

"I haven't decided on what official visits I'll take but I should have a good idea of that by the end of the summer. Right now, I'm looking at all of the schools that have offered me equally. I don't have any favorites yet and that's why I want to take all my visits and then I'll be ready to make my decision."
