Wilkins to Camp at UCLA

Novato (Calif.) San Marin quarterback Manny Wilkins nabbed his first offer from Arizona Tuesday night, and told us he's camping at UCLA in June...

Novato (Calif.) San Marin quarterback Manny Wilkins, who has been waiting for his first offer for months now, finally got what he was waiting for on Tuesday, with Arizona extending an offer to the 12th ranked signal caller.

The offer is Wilkins' first, but certainly won't be his last after the way he performed in the New Level Athletics 7 on 7 this past weekend in Las Vegas.

Wilkins was one of the top quarterbacks at the competition, looking confident and poised even though he was playing in his first real competition with his new team, DB Guru, after his old team bailed on the event.

Wilkins quickly developed a rapport with Fresno (Calif.) Central's Michiah Quick, the top ranked receiver in the country, who caught several touchdown passes from Wilkins.

"It's great being on a team with so many talented guys," Wilkins said. "I think we've developed chemistry pretty quickly, and it's showing on the field."

Wilkins is going to hit the camp and 7 on 7 circuit pretty hard over the coming months, looking to earn more offers as the recruiting season heats up.

"I'm planning on going to UCLA's quarterback camp, ASU's Junior Day, and Washington's (Rising Stars) camp," Wilkins said.

UCLA's quarterback camp will be in June, but with the offers that should soon be coming Wilkins' way, it may be smart for the Bruins to offer sooner rather than later.

As for time frame for his decision, and what, if any, favorites he has, Wilkins is still undecided.

"I still don't know what offers will come, so that's still up in the air," Wilkins said. "Any school that is willing to give me a scholarship is going to be considered."
