Berger Has Spring Travel Plans

The talented linebacker prospect from Ohio, Kyle Berger, has plans to see UCLA this spring...

Kyle Berger is ready to check out several programs in the coming month, now that his basketball season is over at Cleveland St. Ignatius.

Berger, 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, is one of the top 2014 linebacker prospects in the Midwest, with an offer list that is quite impressive.

"I will be going to Michigan this coming weekend," Berger stated. "I will be going up there Friday night with my dad, and we will be staying for practice on Saturday. I was there a few weeks ago, and it will be good to get up there again to see everything."

"I'm planning on going to Ohio State again next weekend, and I'll probably stay with (former teammate) Blake Thomas," he added. "I will go see them practice on Saturday as well. In two weeks, I'm planning on going to Tennessee. I'd like to see Virginia, UCLA and Michigan State as well in the next few months. I have an uncle that used to live on the west coast, and he wants me to see UCLA, so I'm excited to go there."

These spring visits will go a long way toward helping Berger make his eventual choice of schools. He is still planning an early decision.

"I'm looking at early May as a possible decision date, and I definitely want to have it done before my senior season," he explained. "These spring visits will let me see the coaches on the field and how they interact with their players. This will be a big part of my decision, and being able to see these teams in action on the practice field will mean a lot to me."

"Being able to see how the different coaching staffs teach their players is huge to me," Berger continued. "Meeting with coaches and players off the field is great also, but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in a coaching setting. It would be tough for a new school to get into the picture right now, but an offer from Notre Dame would get my attention. We've been talking, but they're not ready to offer at this time. I would also listen to one of the bigger SEC schools if they were interested."

To date, Berger holds nearly 20 offers, including the schools he is planning to visit this spring.
