Plenty of Interest for Adams

Andre Adams, a very promising junior post out of Arizona, has high majors from across the country expressing interest in him...

Andre Adams, 6-7 JR PF Avondale (Ariz.) Westview, is one of the elite post prospects in the West Coast class of 2014. Adams has a terrific frame, with long arms and above average athleticism. He moves very well, he's a good shot-blocker and he's got a nice touch facing up to 15-17 feet.

I spoke with Adams recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"I'm hearing a lot from Arizona State, Georgetown and Gonzaga," said Adams. "Oregon State and New Mexico have offered and I'm also hearing from Indiana, Colorado, Texas, Washington, UNLV and some others."

I asked Adams what he's looking for in a school.

"Education is obviously important and a good basketball program," said Adams. "As far as the location, of course I'd like to play in front of my Mom and friends, but I'm ready to leave if the best opportunity is somewhere else. Early playing time isn't really a big deal. I know that when you get to the next level there will be things you have to work on before you play. If I get to play early that's great, but I'm not expecting it."

I asked Adams if he had a favorite school growing up.

"No, I didn't really have any one school in particular," said Adams. "I watched a lot of different schools. And even now I don't have any dream school."

I asked Adams if he has a time frame in mind for picking a school.

"I'd like to get it done early so I don't have any pressure," said Adams. "I want to get it done so I'm not waiting until the last minute and then have pressure to pick a school."

Adams said he will be playing with the Arizona Magic in the spring and summer.
