Bruins Checking On Soesman

The Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan safety, Adam Soesman, is interested in the Bruins...

Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan safety Adam Soesman (6-2, 185), took in the spring game at California on Saturday, and while the three-star doesn't own an offer from Cal, the Bears are certainly in the mix.

"It was great at Cal, I really liked what I saw," said Soesman. "I had a good time up there talking with the coaches. They want me to come up in possibly April or May again and spend more time there."

Soesman said the Cal coaches told him where he stood in terms of an offer.

"They said they want to look into my grades and they did say they're interested in me as a player. They said they want to see how I could grow into my body too, whether they'd want me as a safety or as a linebacker," said Soesman.

Soesman got to spend time with both the defensive backs coach, Randy Stewart and defensive coordinator Andy Buh.

"We had a good talk with Coach Stewart and Coach Buh too and they said we'll be staying in touch," said Soesman.

In the meantime, Soesman has offers from Oregon State, Houston and San Jose State.

"I could get two more, from Fresno State and Washington State too," said Soesman. "UCLA has been in contact with me and once I get them my transcripts, they could have more interest. And I might go up to the Boise State camp. I know I want to go to the Oregon State camp too."

Soesman looked good at the NLA Elite 7on7 in Las Vegas earlier this month and plans to play with DB Guru on the 7on7 circuit more this spring. He'll also be at the Oakland NFTC in May.

Academically, he has a 3.3 and will take the SAT on May 4.
