Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks receiver Alex Van Dyke continues to rack up offers, with Colorado State, UCLA and Wyoming offering in the last week.

Wyoming and Colorado State offered on Monday, the Bruins a week ago.

And the UCLA offer was one in which Van Dyke had been hoping for.

"After I got that offer from them, I was pretty excited," said Van Dyke. "It was like a big accomplishment. I like that school a lot. I went down there for an unofficial visit and loved the school. It was a surprise when they offered."

Angus McClure, who recruits Northern California for UCLA, offered Van Dyke, and his former teammate, and good friend, Marcus Rios, is heading into his sophomore season with the Bruins.

"Marcus and I talked when I was down there on an unofficial visit," said Van Dyke. "He's always talked up UCLA."

California, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa State, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, Washington State and Wyoming have all offered Van Dyke, and USC is another school he's got strong interest in, having visited last month for the Trojans' Junior Day.

"I'm taking it one offer at a time and I'm not in a hurry to make a decision," said Van Dyke. "I know we'll have a lot of schools coming by in the spring. I have track right now so I don't know if I'll be able to take any other visits, but if the time allows, me and my dad will take some."

Van Dyke was an all-state football/basketball selection by CalHiSports, after averaging double figures in points and rebounds in basketball. Now he's doing track for Cosumnes Oaks.

But he doesn't anticipate being a three-sport star in college. A two-sport star, though, isn't out of the question.

"If I have the opportunity to play both football and basketball, I would definitely strongly consider it," said Van Dyke. "If I had the opportunity to do all three sports though, that would probably be a bit too much for me. I need to still focus on school."

For now, though, Van Dyke is doing a fine job balancing three sports and his schoolwork.

The four-star is carrying a 4.0 and will take the ACT in April and the SAT later this spring.
