Bolton Hopes for UCLA Offer

Vista Murrieta (Calif.) linebacker Curtis Bolton continues to impress on the 7-on-7 circuit and had a great showing at the recent IMG Regional tournament last weekend...

Curtis Bolton played defensive end but will play linebacker at the next level. It's a tough transition learning to play in space and dropping in to coverage when you're used to rushing the passer but Bolton is making it look easy.

In fact, every very time we see him, he looks so much better and he's not just making small strides, he's making huge leaps. Physically, Bolton looks great. He's a rocked out 215-220 pounds and he can really run. He's one of the toughest and most physical players in the state and his athleticism has really improved. He even got some time playing tight end and made several nice catches during tournament play.

On the recruiting front, Bolton's most recent offer was from Arizona a few weeks ago, which joins Washington, Oklahoma, Washington State and Iowa State.

"I'm still trying to get that UCLA offer," Bolton said. "I've liked UCLA for a long time so that would be big for me. They told me I'm one of their top guys and they just want to see my transcripts and could pull the trigger in the spring. They're coming out to see me and I'm trying to get out there for a visit as well.

"I was going to visit UCLA last week but the coaches said they were out for break so I might try and get up there next week if I can. I'm also talking with Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon and USC and they all sound very interested as well. USC wants me to come out for spring practice and I'll check them out for sure."

Bolton has already visited Washington for the Huskies spring game and would like to visit Oklahoma for an official visit in the fall.

"I'm going to take some trips," Bolton said. "I thought about committing early but I think it would be good to go check out some schools and take my time with my decision. There's a long time between now and February and a lot can change so I want to wait it out and make sure I'm doing the right thing."
