"The recruiting process is really slow, as far as offers are concerned, Houston is the only offer I have, but no one else has offered," said Nutt. "I've heard from a couple of schools but I'm not sure what others will come."
But he's also staying patient.
"I'm open to going anywhere and I'm not too worried," said Nutt. "I just want to go to a university that has a good education and I'm really interested in any school."
Nutt also plays offense, but his offer from Houston is as an athlete.
"I would like to play running back in college but if a school recruited me as a defensive back, I would do that too," said Nutt. "Houston offered me as an athlete."
Academically, Nutt has a 4.0 and will take the SAT this spring.
Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West cornerback Andre Chachere (6-0, 170), has one offer and several more schools interested in him.
One school that Chachere is hoping to hear more from is UCLA.
"I'm really interested in them and I'm friends with (UCLA signee) Johnny Johnson," said Chachere. "I am going to try and camp there and visit there this spring."
Chachere said he's open to all schools, but would prefer staying out West.
"I'd like to stay on the West Coast, but if a school from the other side offered, I'd go there too," said Chachere. "I'm not going to ignore any school."
Academically, Chachere is holding a 3.0 and plans to take the SAT next month.
