The Miami native moved to California as he started high school, but is starting to get comfortable in the Southland.
Still, the hometown Canes present a school that he's plenty familiar with.
"I took a visit to the U last year and got to check out the school and everything," said Alson. "I love the weather there and just being from Miami."
UCLA also is a school that Alston is becoming more familiar with.
Arizona, where Green signed, also has Alston's attention.
"My family is really good friends with Zach and he and I are real good friends so Arizona interests me a lot," said Alston. "They throw the ball around a lot and they have a really good quarterback."
With two years until he can sign, Alston is open to any school.
Alston plays both ways and said early recruiting attention is coming on both sides.
"Some schools are looking at me as a receiver and this year I'm going to play corner and Coach T (Todd Therrian, St. Bonaventure's head coach) said schools will want to see if they want me as a corner," said Alston.
Alston also plays basketball and runs track for the Seraphs but said he'll focus plenty on football this spring.
"I'm going to probably go to the Nike Camp in Oakland and then maybe the B2G Camp too," said Alston.
Academically, he has a 3.0 and will take the SAT as a junior.
