Pitt Transfer May Look at UCLA

Running back Rushel Shell, who played at Pittsburgh this past year, has decided to transfer, according to Panther Digest on Tuesday. We've heard there's a possibility that UCLA could be a significant option for him, given his desire to play on the West Coast.

Pittsburgh has not released him to Arizona State (likely because of former coach Todd Graham) or Arizona (because former Pittsburgh staffers are among the coaching staff) but hasn't put any restriction on the Bruins. California figures to be another possible destination for him.

A Pennsylvania native, Shell originally committed to Pittsburgh over Alabama to be near his twin daughters. He was a five star prospect coming out of high school, and at 6'0, 215, has the size and speed to be an every down back at whatever school he chooses.

If Shell chose UCLA, he would sit out this coming year and be eligible for the 2014 season, where he would factor into a running back mix that would include Paul Perkins, Jordon James, and potentially Craig Lee, among others. With his talent level, he could have an immediate impact in 2014.
