Simmons to Visit UCLA

Brandon Simmons, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound Scout.com 4-star safety prospect from Mansfield (Texas) Timberview High is set for a busy week. He will be taking unofficial trips along the West Coast before finishing off with a Midlands powerhouse.

The Scout100 defender has set up unofficial visits to "UCLA and USC for field practice" on Thursday before "driving up to Cal on Friday morning" and finishing off the trip with a visit to Stanford for "the rest of Friday and for the Spring Game on Saturday."

He will then return to the DFW before driving up to Norman (Okla.) to take in a visit to Oklahoma to see the Sooners "final practice of the spring".

"It's like the Amazing Race," joked Brandon's father.

Simmons, who has expressed an interest to keep to an end of spring decision timeline, is pumped for the opportunity to see some of the top schools on his wish list.

"I am excited," Simmons explained. "I want to find a place where I can see myself for four years."

Simmons will be competing in the Nike Football Training Camp in Oakland (Cali.) on May 12.

As a junior, Simmons racked up 94 tackles, broke up two passes, caused two fumbles and had three tackles for a loss to earn First Team All-District and Second Team Scout.com All-Midlands honors.
