Bruins Will Watch Farmer

The Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame safety, Koa Farmer, who is committed to Cal, is on UCLA's watch list...

Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame safety Koa Farmer (6-1, 206), remains solidly committed to Cal, but that hasn't stopped a number of schools from recruiting Farmer.

"I've heard from Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington and Oregon," said Farmer. "And then I have offers from Vanderbilt, Utah and Yale. I'm still solidly committed to Cal, but I'm enjoying the recruiting process."

Farmer has visited all the in-state Pac-12 schools this spring.

"I've visited Cal, UCLA, USC and Stanford," said Farmer. "Stanford was really cool and I liked it. USC, I went down to their Junior Day and their spring practice and got a chance to go to the Coliseum and it was pretty cool. UCLA, I've lived by there, so I've seen it a lot but I went to their first practice in pads. And I went up to Cal and I really like it up there. It feels like home."

Farmer said he's expecting a number of schools to visit him during the eval period.

"I know a lot of schools are going to be coming to see me in the spring, probably coming to see me in May. I know Vanderbilt is coming by and Washington has talked to me a lot and they're going to come by and Oregon State is going to come out in May," said Farmer.

Farmer said Cal wants him as a safety, but he'll play what he's needed to in college.

"I like defense and I like safety, but I'll be playing some linebacker this year," said Farmer.

Farmer is also running track, running the 100, 200 and 400 and the relay with Khalfani Muhammad, a Cal signee.

Brandon is in his ninth year with Scout.com and FOXSportsNext, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
