Jeter's Recruitment Picks Up

Chase Jeter, 6-8 SO C Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman, is one of the elite big men in the west for 2015. Jeter has a terrific frame, with above average ball skills and an advanced feel for the game. With continued development, he has a chance to be one of the top posts in the country.

I spoke with Jeter recently and he told me that some coaches came out to see him recently at his high school.

"UCLA, Arizona and UNLV all sent coaches out and those schools have offered," said Jeter. "In addition to those schools, I'm also getting interest from North Carolina, Indiana and Kansas."

I asked Jeter if any schools stand out for him at this time.

"No, I'm open right now," said Jeter. "I want to watch schools play and see how they use their big men. The way they develop their big men, how they use them in their offense and defense. As far as the location, I'm willing to go anywhere to play basketball. I feel like I will be ready to play right away, but I'm willing to wait if I have to wait. I'm young for my age, so even if I were to leave college early I would have to wait until after my sophomore year."

Jeter said he doesn't see himself making an early decision.

"I'm pretty sure I'm going to wait until later in my senior year," said Jeter.

Jeter has taken a couple of unofficial visits so far.

"I've visited UNLV and San Diego State," said Jeter. "I may take unofficial trips to Indiana and Arizona this summer."
