Rabb Gets Offer

Sophomore center Ivan Rabb, one of the best prospects in the country for 2015, was recently visited by Bruin assistant coach David Grace and came away with an offer from UCLA....

Ivan Rabb, 6-8 SO PF Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd is one of the elite players in the class of 2015 and he's hearing from a wide variety of schools.

"Arizona, Oregon, Cal, UCLA, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Kansas, UConn, Ohio State, UNLV and Arizona State," said Rabb.

Rabb said he has no leader at this time. I asked if he has a feel for which schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"UCLA, Arizona, Cal, North Carolina State and Ohio State," said Rabb.

I asked Rabb for his thoughts on the new staff at UCLA.

"Coach Grace came by our open gym and he offered me for UCLA," said Rabb. "I met him about a year ago when he was at Oregon State. He's a nice guy and has lots of experience."

Rabb talked a little about the factors that will influence his choice.

"A good basketball program and definitely a good academic program," said Rabb. "I want to have something to fall back on in case basketball doesn't work out. I'm not really sure yet about the location."

Rabb has taken unofficial visits to Cal and Stanford. I asked him if he has any plans to take any other visits.

"I'm not really sure about other visits right now," said Rabb.

Rabb said he's in no hurry to reach a decision.

"I'm probably going to wait until after my junior year," said Rabb.
