Holiday Open To UCLA

Aaron Holiday, 6-0 SO PG/SG North Hollywood (Calif.) Campbell Hall, is the younger brother of Jrue and Justin Holiday and he's a terrific prospect in his own right. He's closer in build and game to Jrue than Justin, with explosive athleticism and an attacking mentality on offense. With continued development, he figures to be one of the elite guard prospects in the country for 2015.

I spoke with Holiday recently and asked him about the schools that are recruiting him.

"I haven't had anyone really recruiting me yet," said Holiday. "I've got some letter from Syracuse, USC, UCLA, Washington State and Oregon State, but nobody really on me. I think Washington came out to a game to see me this season and maybe Gonzaga."

I asked Holiday what he's looking for in a school.

"Great coaching, a great program and great academics," said Holiday. "Great academics are the main thing. The location doesn't really matter."

It's no secret that Jrue Holiday didn't have a great experience playing for Coach Howland at UCLA and I asked Aaron if a new staff would make it more likely for him to attend UCLA.

"If Coach Howland was still at UCLA, and I wanted to go there, then I would have gone there," said Holiday. "It's a nice school. My sister is there and I visit her often. It's a pretty nice school."

Holiday has a chance to play either guard spot at the next level and I asked him if he has a preference.

"No, I'll play either position," said Holiday.

Holiday has been to Washington to see his brother Justin play, but has yet to visit any other schools besides UCLA.

I asked Holiday if he has a time frame for picking a school.

"I'm going to wait until my senior year," said Holiday.
