Northwest Road Trip Notebook

A look at some prospects in Oregon and Washington with UCLA interest...

  • Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic defensive end Connor Humphreys is wide open still, but did make the trip down to Los Angeles this past weekend and visited UCLA and USC.  Humphreys said that both schools would be in his top five when he compiles that list.  Humphreys has already visited Boise State, California, Washington and Arizona State and he's hoping to hear more from Oregon, Nebraska, Michigan and Florida State.

  • Portland (Ore.) Roosevelt defensive tackle Sione Taumoe'anga has offers from Portland State and Idaho and said that Oregon State and UCLA could be close to offering.  Taumoe'anga said that BYU, California, Idaho, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and Washington State were all expected to stop by this spring.

  • Mountlake Terrace (Wash.) fullback Devante Downs visited Washington this past weekend for the Huskies' Spring Game.  The top-ranked fullback nationally, Downs has double-digit offers and plans to visit Cal and Stanford unofficially next month when he's in the Bay Area for the Oakland NFTC.  Downs said he'll likely decide at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  UCLA is also coming by in the spring to see Downs.

  • Fife (Wash.) offensive tackle Kaleb McGary is up to 10 offers, with Wisconsin offering him on Sunday.  The Badgers followed Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona State, California, Utah, Boise State and Nebraska.  Stanford, UCLA, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Ole Miss, Michigan, Florida State and San Diego State have been in recent contact with the four-star.

  • Bellevue (Wash.) defensive tackle Marcus Griffin has offers from Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado State and Washington State and the Cougars are the heavy leader for Griffin, who nearly committed there on his most recent visit.  Griffin said that California, Arizona State, USC, UCLA and Oregon State are also showing interest in him.

  • Bellevue (Wash.) 2015 offensive tackle Henry Roberts has one offer, from Washington, and the Huskies were who he grew up rooting for.  Roberts is also hearing from Oregon, Boise State, Stanford, UCLA and USC.

  • Bellevue (Wash.) defensive lineman Shane Bowman is waiting for his first offer but Washington State and Idaho both called him last week.  He visited Arizona State for Junior Day and tripped to Washington State over the weekend and is also interested in Boise State and UCLA.

  • Bellevue (Wash.) 2015 athlete Mustafa Branch doesn't yet have offers, but is interested in Washington, Oregon, UCLA and USC in the early going.
