Transcript

Q: so how do you think the defense looked?

AB: we started pretty slow. We can't have that especially during the season. We'll pick it up. and I think overall, it's pretty good.

Q: Anthony, you've seen a lot of defensive players get hyped for the Heisman. [audio difficulties]. What do it take for someone like you… what do you have to do to win it?

AB: win football games. Get some lucky bounces. If we do that as a team, then all that stuff will come.

Q: do you have a specific goal in mind? Like on statistics or something?

AB: win every game. Personal statistics, I don't think that's important. I think if we win football games as a team, then all the personal accolades will come after.

Q: what do you feel like this defense specifically needs to improve before you guys go into the fall? Is there anything that stands out at this point?

AB: yeah, we have lapse of focus sometimes. We can't have that. We'll be good for certain periods of time and then all of a sudden, we'll give up big plays or something. During the course of a season, we can't have that.

Q: is that something that you saw as a problem you saw earlier, especially today?

AB: yeah, I think today, for whatever reason, we just came out slow. I don't know if it was the people… the crowd, atmosphere… whatever it was, we just can't have it.

Q: what do you think you've been able to improve on the most just as opposed to spring?

AB: my pass coverage. I think dropping back in pass coverage. I think I'm able to attack the quarterback a little bit more. I'm excited about that.

Q: how different do you feel this spring? Last year, it was [audio difficulties] banged up a little bit. Now, you're coming off a great year. How do you feel different?

AB: just more comfortable. I feel smarter. Like I know what I'm doing. And I think when you're comfortable and have an idea of what you're doing, you can play a lot faster.
