Fresno (Calif.) Central defensive tackle Tashon Smallwood was one of a handful of visitors from Central California at UCLA's Spring Game over the weekend.

"It was nice and I had a cool time," said Smallwood. "I got a chance to talk to Coach (Jim) Mora and Coach (Jeff) Ulbrich. We walked out the tunnel and went in to the locker room after and Coach Mora took us in there. It was a good time."

Smallwood, a commit to USC since February, said UCLA hasn't stopped recruiting him.

"Coach Mora said they were still going to recruit me and they were going to come see me in the spring," said Smallwood.

A few weeks prior, Smallwood visited USC for their Spring Game.

"I liked it a lot at USC, that was really nice," said Smallwood. "I got to talk with Coach O (Ed Orgeron) and sat in on the team meeting and just being there we had that home feeling. USC felt like home."

Orgeron has already been by the Central campus this spring.

"Coach O came by practice and saw me and Michiah (Quick) and Shariff (Williams)," said Smallwood. "We have a real good relationship."

USC, Fresno State and Arizona State have all been by this spring and still to come this spring is Cal, Arizona State, Oklahoma and UCLA.

"These schools are going to have a hard time competing with USC, but it's a long way to go," said Smallwood.

Smallwood said he was invited to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl recently and next month, will be at the Oakland NFTC.
