Malachi Dupre Digs UCLA

The four-star wide receiver from Louisiana, Malachi Dupre, talks about his weekend trip to UCLA and his close connection with the Bruin coaching staff...

Malachi Dupre, the #8-ranked receiver in the nation, discussed his trip to Los Angeles, where he was joined by John Curtis teammates Kenny Young and Mattrell McGraw.

"I have such a good relationship with the coaches at UCLA," he said. "Kenny and I had already met the coaches, and it was Mattrell's first time to meet them.

"The whole experience was a good time. The coaches told us to have fun and go with the players. We were living life with the players, having fun and going to parties."

Dupre, the 6-3, 195-pounder, says UCLA is very much in the mix.

"Definitely, 100%," he replied when asked if the Bruins stack up with his favorites, which haven't been revealed publicly. "I like UCLA a lot. The staff is so cool. Most of their coaches are young enough to be able to relate to us.

"They're great at passing the ball, and Coach (Eric) Yarber is a great receivers coach. NFL receivers go out of their way to work with him, which tells you all you need to know. C.J. (Curtis Johnson) at Tulane was his college coach."

Dupre is looking forward to a return trip to UCLA this summer.

He also expects to visit Alabama.

"I definitely plan on checking them out," he said of the Crimson Tide. "Coach (Burton) Burns came to our school and let me know I have an offer, and that Coach Saban really wants me to come out there."
