"I caught eight touchdowns during the regular season and two during the playoffs," Preston said. "I had 600 yards for the season.
"My best games were against East Saint John, Lutcher, St. Augustine and St. Paul's. Against St. Paul's, I had 100 yards receiving with a TD. In the ESJ game, I had eight catches with a TD. I caught a 50-yard TD versus Lutcher and had a 42-yard kick return."
In the St. Aug contest, Preston scored on a 33-yard reception and also intercepted two passes.
The 6-0, 180-pounder was timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the National Underclassmen Combine earlier this year.
Hahnville went 6-5 last year. The Tigers, led by head coach Lou Valdin, entered the Class 5A bracket as a No. 23 seed, but pulled off a 25-21 upset of 10th-seeded St. Paul's in the postseason opener.
The Tigers narrowly missed an upset of seventh-seeded Parkway in the second round (31-28 final score).
Hahnville began the season with four consecutive losses, although the team showed character by rebounding to reel off five straight wins in district competition.
