Humphreys Says Schools Stick Out

The 6-4, 265-pound defensive end prospect from Portland, Oregon, Connor Humphreys, has seen many big-named programs start recruiting him this spring, but he named those that stood out...

Connor Humphreys, the 6-4, 265-pound defensive end prospect from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic, just received another Pac-12 offer over the weekend.

"Arizona just offered me," Humphreys said. "Coach Caponi came here and just let me know they think a lot of my game and my size. He said that I'm bigger than a lot of the defensive linemen they have right now, which was interesting."

Humphreys said he liked the pitch of coaches telling him he's a bigger-style of defensive end.

"I really liked hearing that I am bigger because it gives me the impression that I would have a pretty good chance of playing early," he said. "Now that Arizona has offered me, I'm going to look a lot closer at them."

Arizona, though, clearly has some catching up to do with other schools that have been on Humphreys for a while.

"I would say the schools that stick out the most right now are UCLA, Wisconsin, Southern California and Tennessee," Humphreys said. "There are other schools I like as well, but those four are the ones that come to mind."

Why those schools?

"They have all done a great job recruiting me and when you look at them they are all schools that have pretty good reputations,"Humphreys said.

Humphreys has taken a few unofficial visits and after taking a few more says he'll be ready to take the next step in his recruitment and narrow his list.

"In the next month I'm going to take some visits," Humphrey said. "I would like to get out and check as many places as possible and then come up with some schools that I want to go on official visits to. Ideally, I will decide in September or October."
