Demps Planning UCLA Visit

The Elk Grove (Calif.) Pleasant Grove receiver, Wyatt Demps, will visit and camp with UCLA...

Elk Grove (Calif.) Pleasant Grove receiver Wyatt Demps (6-4, 185), has five offers on tap, but after a busy summer of camps, that offer sheet could increase.

"I have offers from Hawaii, San Jose State, Idaho, Sacramento State and Nevada," said Demps. "We had a lot of schools come by in the spring, like Wyoming and Fresno State, and Cal, UCLA and Missouri all showed interest. I've also gotten some letters from Stanford."

Demps can play both receiver and safety, but most schools look at him as a receiver.

"All schools are recruiting me as a receiver," said Demps. "I also play safety, but my focus has been at receiver."

Demps looked good all spring on the 7on7 circuit as well as at the Oakland NFTC and is hoping to continue that with a slate that includes six different camps.

"I know I'm going to camp at Tulsa, UCLA, Boise State, San Jose State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State," said Demps. "And I'm definitely considering camps at Cal and Stanford."

Cal and Stanford have both been keeping an eye on Demps, and Boise State, where his teammate Brandon Lewis is committed, is also showing a good amount of interest.

"I talk with Coach (Chris) Petersen and Coach (Robert) Prince and they said they'd be watching me at their camp and this season," said Demps.

And UCLA, where Demps camped last summer, also has eye.

"We're doing a 7on7 tournament there and UCLA is a school I've always had interest in," said Demps.

Academically, Demps has a 3.5 with a handful of AP classes and took the SAT earlier this spring, with plans to take it again this fall.

As a junior, Demps had 39 receptions for 620 yards and 12 touchdowns and added 42 tackles, three pass deflections and two interceptions.

Brandon is in his ninth year with Scout.com and FOXSportsNext, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
