Oregon NFTC: Recruiting Notebook

A look at some recruiting news and notes from the Oregon Nike Football Training Camp...

Several of the West's top prospects were on hand at the Oregon NFTC on Sunday and here are news and notes from the recruiting trail with some UCLA recruits and targets.

Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic defensive end Connor Humphreys.

Humphreys Hitting the Road

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit defensive end Connor Humphreys is planning a busy next couple of weeks.

"I'm going to UCLAnext weekend (June 14-15) for an unofficial visit," said Humphreys.  "I haven't decided if I will see USC yet though."

Humphreys said he will also be visiting Tennessee, Wisconsin, Arizona and Arizona State unofficially this summer.

"Wisconsin and Tennessee are two of the schools recruiting me the hardest," said Humphreys.

Humphreys said he's not narrowing his list at all.

"I don't have a top five, I'm still open to everyone," said Humphreys.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle defensive end Sumner Houston.

Houston Will Do Several Camps

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle defensive end Sumner Houston pretty much matched Griffin and made a case for DL MVP himself.

The three-star has offers from Eastern Washington, Nevada and UC Davis and more are interested.

"Oregon State is looking at me, UCLA, Cal, Colorado, Air Force and Army are all interested too," said Houston.

The Oregon NFTC was his first camp and he'll also camp with Oregon State and Colorado and UCLA as well.

He'll also visit the three schools who've offered unofficially.

Baker has three on top

Bellevue (Wash.) defensive back Budda Baker has been consistent in naming a top three of Oregon, UCLA and Washington and reiterated that on Sunday.

"Those are my top three and I plan to take official visits to all three schools in the fall." Baker said. "I'm also interested in Arizona State and Notre Dame and I want to officially visit those ones as well. I want to take my visits after the season so I probably won't be making a decision until late in the process."

Baker took an unofficial visit to Oregon on Saturday and said he loved it. He has been to UCLA twice and Washington several times as well and plans to visit both programs over the summer.

New offer for Apsay

Canyon Country (Calif.) Canyon quarterback Cade Apsay had an early offer from Arizona and recently picked up his second Pac 12 offer.

"I got an offer from Colorado last weekend," Apsay said. "They had been telling me they were close for a while and just told me to be patient and it would come. It's definitely exciting and I really like both Arizona and Colorado a lot. I'm doing a lot of thinking right now and I could be close to making a decision."

Before making a decision, Apsay will camp with UCLA on Tuesday and Oregon State on Saturday. A decision could come as soon as next week.
