Baker Has Three on Top

The Bellevue (Wash.) safety, Budda Baker, has three Pac-12 schools at the top of his list...

Budda Baker is one of the most versatile players in the West and could play at least three positions in college. He has a corner frame but plays more safety at Bellevue and said that's where he would like to play in college as well.

"Most colleges ask me what I want to play but most of are saying they would like me to play corner," Baker said following the camp. "I prefer safety, I'm comfortable there and I like to be free to roam the field and make plays. I played a little of both today and had fun out there."

On the recruiting front, Baker has been consistent in naming a top three of Oregon, UCLA and Washington and reiterated that on Sunday.

"I just visited Oregon for the first time on Saturday and loved it there," Baker said. "It was crazy how nice everything is. I got there around 6:00 that night and then me up with the coaches at 7:30. I toured the facilities, saw the stadium, the press box, academic center, it was really nice, I've never seen anything like it.

"Washington feels like a big family whenever I visit there. I have a lot of friends on the team and the coaches are always great with me. I know you don't have to fall in love with the coaches at the school you choose but I really like those guys a lot and have a connection with them.

"UCLA is the same, it feels like family when I visit. I've been there two times already and really like everything about it. I know Coach Mora personally because his son goes to Bellevue and I know he would look out for me. I like how they compete and they're building something there for sure."

Baker said two other schools stand out as well and he would like to take all five of his official visits before making a decision.

"I'm also interested in Arizona State and Notre Dame and I want to officially visit those schools as well," Baker said. "My five official visits will be to those five schools since that's my top five.

"I know sometimes people ask me why I want to officially visit Washington since it's close to home or even UCLA and Oregon but those are the schools I like and I want to give them all the same shot. I'll take my visits probably after the season if I can't visit during a game weekend and then I'll make my decision probably closer to Signing Day."
