Here is a look at some of the top performers on Monday.
Kickers and Punters
Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure kicker Jesse Kelly was by far the best class of 2014 prospect there. Kelly has a huge D-I leg and was strong on all the skills: field goal, kickoffs and punts.
Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame kicker Lucas Alfonso also had a nice day in all the skills.
The 2015 class had a few standouts of its own.
West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade's Ben Kreitenberg is already considered one of the most talented young kickers in the nation. He was extremely consistent and mentally strong.
Los Alamitos (Calif.) punter Blake Johnson is one of the best young punters in the nation at this point. Watching him punt, you can tell he has a real shot to be a D-I guy. Johnson is a great athlete with big upside.
Solana Beach (Calif.) Santa Fe Christian kicker/punter Jake Bailey is a big time talent. He is a great athlete with a huge leg and has a chance at all three spots.
Palisades (Calif.) punter/kicker Ethan Erickson also had a nice day.
La Verne (Calif.) Damien's Tanner Carew was recently offered by Colorado and again was, hands down the best long snapper at the camp. Carew snaps a very fast ball and is athletic as any college long snapper. He is built very well and could play today in college. Carew told us he plans to take an unofficial visit back to UCLA later this month. He's ranked as the top snapper in the country in the 2014 class.
From the 2015 class, Anaheim (Calif.) Servite's A.J. Carty is built like a college athlete already and he snaps like one as well. Carty showed great poise and was solid all day and you can tell that Carty has a very bright future with his snapping.
In 2016, John Aloma from Simi Valley (Calif.) is a name to remember. Aloma showed excellent form and snaps a very quick ball for his age. He handled himself well throughout the day.
