Delp Will Get Chance with UCLA

The Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch offensive lineman, Kammy Delp, is camping with UCLA on Friday in search of an offer...

Kammy Delp is one of the fastest rising lineman out West this year and has blown past the double digit offer mark. His first offer came from Oregon State as a defensive tackle while most of his recent offers have been as an offensive guard.

Delp worked out with the offensive lineman at the NorCal NIKE Camp and did good enough to earn OL MVP honors as well as an invite to The Opening. This past weekend, Delp attended USC's lineman camp.

"It was good, I worked out with Coach Cregg and thought it went well," Delp said. "I only did one session but I thought I did all right. I grew up a Trojan fan so hopefully they offer, that would be really big for me.

"During the drills, Coach Cregg said he liked my get-off and the other coaches complimented my strikes. I didn't get to see him after the one on ones to talk more because the coaches had to get to a meeting but I'm hoping they liked what they saw."

Delp will hit up a few more camps before heading off to Oregon for The Opening.

"I'm going to Arizona's camp on Saturday but I'm just going to watch and hopefully talk with the coaches," Delp said. "Then on the 21st, I'm going to UCLA's for their camp and I'm hoping to get an offer. If UCLA were to offer, I would definitely give them a serious look.

"Coach Mora is a great coach and I'm close with Poasi Moala and Kylie Fitts who signed their last year. I train with Poasi and I can't wait to see him in action, he's a beast. Kylie is too, I'm looking forward to watching USC and UCLA got at it because I know some of the linemen on both teams, that should be fun."

Delp said he could be close to narrowing his list down but doesn't plan to make a commitment until after the season.

"I would like to commit around the time of all the All-American games," Delp said. "I'm close to naming a top five but wanted to wait and see what USC and UCLA do. If they offer, that would be great, but if not, that's fine too and I should have a top five by the time The Opening rolls around.

"Right now, I'm comfortable with all the schools on my list and haven't narrowed it down yet. I'm also still trying to hear more from Oregon, I heard one of their coaches likes me for defensive tackle so we'll see what happens there."
