Looney Names Top Ten

Milwaukee (Wisc.) Hamilton power forward Kevon Looney has named a top ten, and UCLA made the cut...

Kevon Looney has a plan.

The five-star recruit out of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Hamilton has his school list at 10 schools. He's going to play through July and then start getting his list to a working number.

"I'm going to narrow my list down at the end of July," Looney explained. "At the end of July I want to take visits in August and in the fall."

Looney currently lists UCLA, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Georgetown, Stanford and Wisconsin. Looney doesn't have any visits set up and hasn't taken a recent unofficial visit.

"I took some earlier last year when I went to Tennessee for my dads family reunion and I've seen Wisconsin," Looney said.

Will distance factor into Looney's recruitment?

"It doesn't matter," Looney said. "I'm going to go to school wherever the best fit is for me."

At NBPA Camp, Looney played with a chip on his shoulder. The 6-foot-8 active power forward ran the floor looking to score, finished off plays in the paint, contested shots and rebounding in and out of his area.

Through five camp games, Looney averaged 10.4 points and eight rebounds per game and was name to the NBPA Camp All-Star team.

Looney is currently ranked No. 7 overall and the No. 3 power forward in the 2014 recruiting class.
