2016 Prospect Hopes for an Offer

2016 Pasadena (Calif.) La Salle forward Vance Jackson already boasts offers from Connecticut, Washington, and Arizona, but is hoping for one from UCLA soon...

One of the more highly recruited 2016 prospects on the West Coast is 6-foot-7, 200-pound Pasadena (Calif.) La Salle forward Vance Jackson.

A strong shooter, Jackson is a productive player for his age and working hard to expand his skill set.

"I'm happy with my game right now but I know I need to keep working on my game to get to the next level," Jackson said.

"My biggest strength is that guys my size struggle guarding me. If they play off me I can shoot, and if they guard me closely I'll go right by them. I need to work on being more vocal on the court and my athleticism; I want to jump out of the building."

Jackson holds offers from UConn, Washington and Arizona with interest from UCLA, Kansas, USC, Michigan State, UNLV and U.C. Irvine.

He's hoping for an offer from a local program.

"My dad always rooted for UCLA and I do like the way they play and that it's close to home," Jackson said. "I've talked to the staff and it has told me that I'm their favorite freshman wing on their list. Next year hopefully they offer."

At this point, Jackson is completely wide open in his recruitment and is in no rush to make a commitment anywhere.

"I'm open to every single college in the United States," he said. "I'll be looking for how I fit, who the point guard on the team is, what other wings I'd be playing with and how the coach runs the program.

"I think I want to make a decision between my junior and senior years."
