Robinson camped with UCLA two weeks ago at the Bruins skills camp and was invited back to the Elite 11 camp after a strong performance. He looked very good at the Elite 11 camp showing surprising agility for such a big safety and physically, looks a little like former USC safety Taylor Mays at the same stage.
"I was real excited about the UCLA offer," Robinson said. "I really enjoyed working with Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) at both of the camps I was at. He ha a great personality along with being a great coach. I learned a lot from him and he was real fun to be around.
"He makes the game intense but fun at the same time and we clicked pretty well. UCLA is a very prestigious university with a great head coach in Jim Mora. They have great academics and the football program is strong as well. I think they'll be able to contend for a national championship soon so this offer means a lot.
"UCLA offered for safety, they like my ability to cover at my size," Robinson said. "I plan to go out to Northwestern for a visit next month and when I get back, I'll sit down with my family and talk about making a decision.
"I want to make an early commitment before school starts so I can go in to the season stress free. I'm done with camps, I just want to focus on my team now so that Northwestern visit will be it and then we'll go from there."
Academically, Robinson is carrying a 4.3 GPA and has scored a 1560 on the SAT.
