--River Ridge (Louisiana) John Curtis Christian defensive back Mattrell McGraw said UCLA will make his top three, which he plans on announcing next week.
Both Dupre and McGraw spent some time on campus this week, prior to the B2G Camp this weekend, but didn't spend much time with the coaching staff, with many of the coaches out of town. McGraw did tell me that he called Coach Martin and spoke with him while McGraw was visiting the campus, and talked with Mora recently over the phone as well.
--Gardena (Calif.) Serra defensive back Glen Ihenacho said that UCLA is recruiting him about third hardest behind Colorado and Washington State. He said that he's not sure when he's going to make a commitment, but that UCLA is doing well with him, and it didn't hurt that the Bruins secured a commitment from teammate Jordan Lasley.
--Damien Mama told me that he started considering UCLA again one day when he turned off his phone, made a list of schools that he wanted to consider, crossed off UCLA, and then asked himself why he was crossing them off. When he couldn't come up with a good reason, he made a point to talk to Adrian Klemm, and they've since hit it off. He said he, Viane Talamaivao, and Kammy Delp are all very close, and he and Talamaivao plan to visit Alabama together in August.
--Denzel Fisher said that UCLA has told him that they're close to offering, but they still want to wait. He thinks they want to see more of him, so he's hoping he does well enough at B2G this weekend for reports to trickle back to the coaching staff. He's hearing the most from Washington State and Utah, and those schools are likely the top two for him at this point, pending UCLA or USC interest.
--Linebacker Michael Lazarus said that UCLA hasn't been talking to him much over recent weeks. He said that he and D.J. Calhoun have talked about going to the same school, but says that it's likely going to depend on which schools offer both of them. He said, also, that he, Calhoun, Adarius Pickett, and Joe Mixon have talked about going to the same school, but he's not sure it'd happen.
--Running back Tre Watson, who's committed to Cal, certainly sounded excited about his UCLA offer. He reiterated that he's completely committed to Cal, but from the way he sounded, the UCLA offer, and greater USC interest, are a big deal to him. His mom sounds like she's a big factor in his recruitment, and she might be the type that wants him to stay close to home.
--Defensive back Edward Paris, who's committed to LSU, told me that he plans on officially visiting UCLA in the fall, and said he's already visited once before. He also said he's 100% committed to LSU, so it sounds more like he'd take the official visit just to see LA again. For what it's worth, he said that Adrian Klemm gave him his first offer when he was at SMU, so there's that.
