The Opening: Michiah Quick

The Fresno (Calif.) Central five-star receiver, Michiah Quick, talks his top seven and being at The Opening...

Fresno (Calif.) Central receiver Michiah Quick, the nation's top-ranked receiver, made it three straight years that Central has had a player at The Opening, joining only St. John Bosco from the West Coast to have someone in The Opening all three years.

"I was repping for Central just a tad bit," said Quick. "My guys were out here last year so I have to keep balling."

Quick knows that he's had a bulls-eye all week.

"As the number one receiver, I look forward to it but it's really nothing to me," said Quick. "Coming into this thing, I know I had a target on my back so I had to just make sure to block everything out."

Quick said it's not uncommon going up against elite defensive backs. He went up against three four-star's and a five-star every day in practice for the last couple of years.

"Tee Shepard was a top corner, Johnny Johnson was D-I, L.J. Moore was D-I and Hatari Byrd was D-I, and I was going up against these guys every day in practice so I already have to turn it up."

On the recruiting front, Quick has offers from coast to coast.

But even with being coveted by several programs, Quick is focusing on a handful.

Quick has seven schools he's still considering.

"It's like a top seven, in no order, of Notre Dame, UCLA, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, Washington and Cal," said Quick.

He was planning to camp at Washington, but he's hoping to graduate early, so he's in summer school.

"I've been up to Washington before and I may still try and go up there again," said Quick. "I know I'm going to get back down to USC and UCLA to visit again before summer's over. And I know I'm going out to Alabama and Oklahoma this summer."

Quick said he's planning to visit five schools officially, but doesn't have any set yet.

"It's looking more towards Signing Day when I'll announce," said Quick.
