The Opening: Delp Update

Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch athlete Kammy Delp was one of four California offensive linemen to make The Opening last week and ironically all four work out together in the off-season...

Kammy Delp is a two-way standout who worked out at guard at The Opening but is a talented defensive tackle as well. At 6-2.5, 328 pounds, Delp has the size and strength to excel at the next level and just needs to continue to work on his overall feet and athleticism before he takes his game to another level.

On the recruiting front, Delp was planning to narrow his list down to five schools while at The Opening but he has decided to hold off on doing so.

"I thought I was ready but my parents want me to wait a bit," Delp said. "I'll probably do it either right before the season or sometime during it. I have a big list right now but I know Washington will for sure make the cut, that's the one I know for sure.

"After that, it's open. I like Washington State a lot too and I'm still talking with Oregon State and Arizona and a few others. I'm still holding out hope for the L.A schools, UCLA and USC too. I talk with Coach Klemm at UCLA a lot so hopefully they offer but that's about it for now."

All of the above mentioned schools are recruiting Delp for the offensive line except Oregon State who likes him as a defensive tackle.
