Mixon Looking To Return

The Oakley (Calif.) Freedom running back, Joe Mixon, wants to visit UCLA again soon...

Joe Mixon had a monster spring and summer and clearly established himself as one of the top running back prospects in the nation. You don't see too many backs dominate 7 on 7 events but Mixon did it on a regular basis playing running back, receiver and safety.

He's getting closer to cutting his list down from 14 schools and recently set up his first two official visits.

"I'm going to Texas A&M (Sept. 14) and Oklahoma (Oct. 4)," Mixon said. "I need to set up one to Georgia too. Those aren't my top three schools or anything but I just really like all three programs and want to get out there and check things out.

"For the last two visits, I'm still trying to figure it out. I like Alabama and LSU a lot and also want to visit Wisconsin and Ohio State. Unfortunately, I only have five total visits, I wish I could take more but I can't so figuring out those last two will be hard."

Mixon said he'll likely take a few unofficial visits during the season as well.

"I'll be able to go to California anytime and I want to check out UCLA," Mixon said. "I've already been to USC and Washington a few times so I feel like I know those schools pretty well. I'm taking all five official visits during the season so I'm not going to have a lot of time to take unofficial's.

"I still plan to make my decision at the Army All-American game. That's another reason why I want to get all my visits done early. Once I commit, that will be it so it's going to be a busy season for me but I can't wait."
