Pflueger Talking With UCLA

Rex Pflueger, a junior wing from Orange County, is drawing interest from the Bruin staff and says the Bruins were one of the programs he liked growing up as a kid...

Rex Pflueger, 6-4 JR SG Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is receiving early recruiting interest from a number of West Coast programs. "I'm hearing from Cal, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, Washington State, San Diego State, Notre Dame and Gonzaga," said Pfleuger. When asked which schools have offered, Pfleuger said "Washington State and Gonzaga." I asked Pfleuger what he is looking for in a school. "Definitely academics is a big thing, but mostly someplace where I could go in my first year and start," said Pfleuger. "A system where I can work well in the system. Location doesn't really matter; I'm good with the cold weather and warm weather." Pfleuger is unsure about the timing of his decision. "I'm definitely waiting right now," said Pfleuger. "I don't know right now. Honestly, I'm thinking maybe early but maybe late." I asked Pfleuger if he had a dream school growing up. "Not really, there was just a bunch of schools I really liked," said Pfleuger. "Stanford and Duke because of academics, but also USC and UCLA because are the two local schools." Pfleuger has taken unofficial visits to San Diego State, USC and UCLA. Pfleuger said he has a 4.1 GPA.
