Corona (Calif.) Santiago safety Ron Robinson committed to UCLA on Wednesday, giving UCLA its first defensive commitment of the 2014 cycle.

"I took an unofficial visit today and everything jut felt like home," Robinson said. "I love Coach Mora and Coach Martin. I have great relationships with the whole staff. The campus and facilities were beautiful, so everything told me to commit."

Robinson, a three-star, committed to the Bruins after being offered a month ago at UCLA's Elite Camp. He said Mora played a significant role in his commitment

"Meeting with Coach Mora again was great," Robinson said. "We really hit it off in his office, and I could just tell this was home."

Robinson said that location also played a role, with the proximity to home playing a big factor in making the decision between UCLA and Northwestern.

Robinson is not the only safety expected to commit this week, as fellow three-star safety Jojo McIntosh is expected to commit to the Bruins on Friday.

Robinson, who had plans to visit UCLA and Northwestern over the coming months, said he just had to jump at the offer.

"No sense in waiting," Robinson said. "{This way I can} enjoy my senior season and just play."

Robinson said he has designs to start recruiting other defensive players to join him, including Gardena (Calif.) safety Glen Ihenacho and linebacker Dwight Williams.

He also said that he's most likely done with recruiting.

"I'm pretty solid," Robinson said. "Right now I don't think I'll take any more visits."
