"I went to California and visited UCLA," he said. "I was excited to get the offer. The campus is beautiful and the coaches said it would be a good home for me.
"They liked how when they first saw me in person that I have long arms. They love corners with long arms. They'd watched my film a lot and like my physical style."
"I'm open to anybody that's willing to offer me a scholarship," Lewis said. "I haven't made my mind up about where I'll commit.
"At UCLA, I liked how Coach (Demetrice) Martin is open and real with you. He shows you how it is and how he treats his players. He and Coach (Steve) Broussard said if I come there, don't mess around, and be about my business then I could be on the field as a freshman."
Lewis and University Lab 2015 running Nicholas Brossette would like to play for the same college.
"That's the plan," Lewis said. "Nick and I played together at the same middle school, Broadmoor, when we were in the sixth grade.
"We got real close."
"Alabama camp went real well," Lewis said, "although I had to adapt to Coach Saban's style of play for defensive backs. He likes corners to do some things differently than I've been accustomed to in the past, and I was able to learn new things.
"I like Alabama's cover two style of defense."
