Whitehead Plans Official Visits

The #2-ranked shooting guard in the country, Isaiah Whitehead from New York, will take official visits to at least three schools in Setpember and October...

Isaiah Whitehead, a 2014 guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., will take official visits to Indiana, Minnesota, UCLA and possibly Seton Hall in September and October, a source close to Whitehead told AllHoosiers.com Tuesday.

Whitehead will not take an official visit to Syracuse, and the source indicated Whitehead has eliminated the Orange from his list of potential suitors, which is siginficant since it was believed Syracuse was Whitehead's leader. Guard Kaleb Joseph committed to Syracuse last weekend.

Whitehead will visit Indiana first, but a date has not yet been scheduled.

The source told AllHoosiers.com that because the schools Whitehead is still considering are so far from home, he wants to choose one where he already has a good relationship with someone on staff or on the team.

"He knows people at UCLA and Minnesota," the source said. "He doesn't really have anybody at IU, but Indiana is Indiana and they have the tradition. He loves Indiana. He's letting the process play out right now, but he's definitely high on Indiana."

Whitehead, a five-star recruit, is the No. 2 ranked shooting guard in the 2014 class.
