According to Whitehead's high school and AAU coach James Barrett, Indiana did a good job on the unofficial visit.
"The campus was nice," said Barrett of Indiana. "It was good to get a chance to meet Coach (Tom) Crean in person an meet the guys on the team."
With Indiana playing time and the coaching staff really appeal to Whitehead.
"As far as him fitting in, there is room for him to play immediately," Barrett explained. "Indiana has a very experienced staff with two assistants who were head coaches. Also Kenny (Johnson) does a great job recruiting and Coach Crean has coached a bunch of pros."
In terms of what is next, expect some more visits.
"Pretty much he is going to take a couple of more visits and go from there," said Barrett. "Isaiah will probably go to Seton Hall, Louisville, UCLA, Syracuse, and Minnesota. There is no order in which he is going to take visits, but he plans to make those."
Barrett also noted that Indiana is likely to receive a return trip, and it would be an official for their Hoosier Hysteria event.
One school long associated with Whitehead has been Syracuse. The Orange recently took a commitment from Kaleb Joseph, and there was some buzz that they would no longer be an option, but Barrett indicated that isn't the case.
"With Syracuse they are definitely still an option," said Barrett. "Coach (Jim) Boeheim has had a lot of guards in the past and they have done well, so they are still an option for sure."
Do not look for the No. 12 overall prospect to make a quick decision as he intends to make visits and come to an informed conclusion before a commitment is made.
