Delp Takes In Opener

Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch offensive lineman Kammy Delp (6-4, 320), had never been to a game at the Rose Bowl, despite living just 30 minutes or so away.

So Saturday night, Delp took in his first-ever UCLA game and got a chance to check out the Bruins in their season opening win over Nevada.

And Delp raved about the game.

"It was my very first game and it was unreal," said Delp. "I loved the atmosphere and loved the tempo Saturday night. Especially being with my family, Damien Mama and Juju Smith. It was a pretty good game."

Delp also got to go in the UCLA locker room after the game and spoke with some of the coaches.

"I got to talk to Courtney Morgan, Coach (Steve) Broussard and Coach (Adrian) Klemm after the game," said Delp.

Delp said he was blown away by the atmosphere in the stadium.

"It was pretty crazy," said Delp. "The fans of UCLA don't play around when it comes to football. All around, the atmosphere was high tempo and I had a lot of fun."

Delp was offered by UCLA in early August, and while UCLA is on his short list, he's sticking to the top seven he's been maintaining for a couple of weeks.

"My top seven is still Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State," said Delp.

Diamond Ranch opened their season with a 33-6 win over Chino and will face Pico Rivera (Calif.) El Rancho on Friday.
