On Tuesday afternoon, Pickett didn't think there was any more reason to wait and called Martin and told him he wanted to be a Bruin.
"I called Coach Meat to tell him I was committing to UCLA and he was really excited and saying 'oh my God,' over and over," said Pickett. "He was really happy."
Pickett's parents were also happy with the decision and after the joined him on the trip, he had their full blessing.
"My mom was real happy with everything she saw and heard on the visit and my dad wanted me to be happy too and the visit to UCLA really showed them everything," said Pickett.
Pickett said that Mora's focus on the family setting at UCLA played a big role in his decision.
"UCLA has the best family atmosphere for me and Coach Mora treats the team like it's a family," said Pickett. "I just felt like Coach Meat, Coach Mora and Coach (Angus) McClure are the best fit for me."
Pickett said he'd be talking with Mora later this evening.
"Coach Meat said that Coach Mora is going to call me back tonight and I know he's going to be excited," said Pickett. "At dinner on Sunday, he was talking about me and saying they want me."
Pickett was planning to visit USC at some point this fall and had indicated he would take all five trips, but now he said he's closing the book on his recruitment.
"I'm done," said Pickett. "I feel comfortable with my decision and I'm really happy. Now I can focus on my season."
The No. 2 corner in the West, Pickett has been selected to the 2014 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.
