Calhoun Will Take Trips

The El Cerrito (Calif.) four-star linebacker and USC commit, D.J. Calhoun, will take all of his official visits and UCLA could be getting one of them...

El Cerrito (Calif.) linebacker D.J. Calhoun, who committed to USC in July, will be taking all five of his official visits.

"D.J. feels like he needs the full experience to be able to compare everything to USC, so he's going to take his official visits to the other schools," said his father, Derik.

Calhoun was hoping to visit USC officially during the season, but that's not looking like it will happen.

"USC wants him to push his visit out to December, so he's a little nervous about that," said Derik Calhoun. "So he's going to take some visits here in the meantime."

His father made it clear that Calhoun hasn't decommitted from USC.

"He hasn't decommitted from USC," said Derik Calhoun. "He's just opening up things to be able to take all of his visits. We called Coach (Clay) Helton earlier and I'm sure he'll call us later today."

Calhoun chose the Trojans over UCLA, but he was also considering Arizona State, California and Miami when he announced at The Opening.

One teammate, Jalen Harvey, is committed to Cal and another, Adarius Pickett, is committed to UCLA.
