Chaminade head coach Ed Croson told Scout's Greg Biggins on Tuesday afternoon that the Bruins offered his four-star quarterback.
Kaaya, ranked as the No. 17 quarterback in the country by Scout.com, has been committed to Miami since May, the Hurricanes the first to offer him.
But UCLA has been staying in contact with him and head coach Jim Mora and quarterbacks coach Taylor Mazzone went to see Kaaya two weeks ago when Chaminade played Oaks Christian.
Kaaya's close friend, Jojo McIntosh, is committed to the Bruins, and he told Greg Biggins during the summer that if UCLA offered Kaaya, he'd be working on him to commit to the Bruins.
Now, UCLA will wait and see if Kaaya sticks with the Hurricanes or decides to stay closer to home and flip to the Bruins.
Kaaya's mother commented on the offer from UCLA, and said that Kaaya remains solid to Miami, for the time being.
"UCLA is an awesome program that he respects," said Angela Means. "At this time, he is committed to the University of Miami"
We'll have more from Kaaya later.
