UCLA Prospect Recap: Week Four

A look at how UCLA's commits and recruits did in week four action...

Game of the Week: Gardena Serra def. Narbonne, 36-13
In a game that UCLA head coach Jim Mora attended, UCLA target Adoree Jackson was electric, picking off a pass and returning it 102-yards for a touchdown.  Offensively, he was just as effective, rushing for 78 yards on eight carries and catching three passes with another touchdown on the ground.

Corona Centennial def. Carson, 55-25
It was another big night for the Huskies' big offensive weapons, with running back and UCLA target Tre Watson running for 190 yards on 16 carries and four touchdowns and UCLA commit Barry Ware grabbing three passes for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

El Cerrito def. Dublin Valley Christian, 49-7
UCLA commit Adarius Pickett had an interception and five tackles and also ran for 124 yards on 11 carries while catching two passes for 73 yards with a 64-yard touchdown in there in the rout.

Upland def. Corona Santiago, 43-42
Though the Sharks fell in overtime to Upland, the game was a good one for UCLA recruit Blake Barnett, the 2015 quarterback who was offered by UCLA this week.  Barnett was 26-for-43 for 337 yards and three touchdowns and added 87 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  UCLA commit Ron Robinson had six tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception.  Upland's 2015 quarterback Tyler Hilinski was 18-for-29 for 284 yards and four touchdowns.

Fresno Central def. Tulare Union, 56-35
Michiah Quick, the five-star UCLA target, had five receptions for 87 yards with a 14-yard touchdown and added a 90 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Central's victory.

Compton Dominguez def. Compton Centennial, 21-0
Dominguez, which boasts Uriah Leiataua, the younger brother of former UCLA lineman Shannon Tevaga and Sonny Tevaga that UCLA is watching helped lead a stingy Dons defense, that shutout the Apaches, and UCLA commit Denzel Fisher.

Carmel (Ind.) def. Indianapolis (Ind.) North Central, 42-7
With UCLA offensive line coach Adrian Klemm looking on to see Bruin verbal Austin Roberts, Carmel cruised to a 35-point win.

Bolivar (Mo.) def. Marshfield (Mo.), 59-24
UCLA assistant coach Taylor Mazzone was in attendance to see quarterback Rafe Peavey, who's committed to Missouri, and Peavey had a good game.  He was 10-for-18 for 215 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 16 times for 252 yards and three touchdowns.

Auburn (Ala.) def. Gadsden City (Ala.), 16-13
UCLA commit Antreal Allen and teammate Rashaan Evans held off Gadsden City, with Evans having two catches for 44 yards and three sacks before he headed West for his visit to UCLA. Allen had two tackles and an interception.

Chandler (Ariz.) def. Laveen (Ariz.) Cesar Chavez, 41-21
UCLA recruit Bryce Perkins, who the Bruins have offered as an athlete, but who plays quarterback for Chandler, threw a career-best five touchdowns in the win.  Bruin commit Dionte Sykes had a pair of touchdown catches from Perkins.

Oakley Freedom def. Castro Valley, 48-21
UCLA running back target Joe Mixon ran for a career high 293 yards and six touchdowns to give Freedom their second straight win.

Other UCLA Targets in Action
Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks receiver Alex Van Dyke beat Fair Oaks (Calif.) Del Campo, 42-14.  Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch offensive lineman Kammy Delp topped West Covina (Calif.), 47-21.  Lompoc (Calif.) defensive tackle Ainuu Taua trounced Morro Bay (Calif.), 49-7.

UCLA Targets & Commits With Byes
West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade safety Jojo McIntosh and quarterback Brad Kaaya had a bye as did Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco and offensive lineman Damien Mama and quarterback Josh Rosen.
