Jeremy Hemsley, 6-3 JR SG La Verne (Calif.) Damien, is one of the elite prospects in the West Coast class of 2015. A talented scorer, Hemsley is an above-average athlete with excellent ball skills and a terrific approach to the game. He's got the chance to be the best guard in the west for 2015.

I spoke with Hemsley recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"The main ones so far are UNLV, Washington, Oregon, UCLA, USC and San Diego State," said Hemsley.

When asked which schools have offered, Hemsley replied, "They've all offered except for UCLA."

I asked Hemsley if he has a feel for which schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"Washington and UNLV have recruited me the hardest," said Hemsley.

Hemsley talked a little about the factors that will be important to his decision.

"Of course playing time is important," said Hemsley. "And then I want a team that feels like a family away from home. That's important. The location doesn't really matter."

When asked if he had a dream school growing up, Hemsley said, "No, I didn't really follow any one particular program. I was more concerned about just playing somewhere in college."

Hemsley said he's in no hurry to reach a decision.

"I'll probably decide during my senior year," said Hemsley. "Probably in the early signing period."

Hemsley said he has a GPA in the 3.2 to 3.3 range.
