Samuel Interested in the Bruins

Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany cornerback Colin Samuel has the potential to be an excellent player at the next level...

Some players immediately catch your eye based solely on the old eyeball test and Colin Samuel definitely fits the bill. He's a long, athletic corner that stands about 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. He moves very fluidly and showed nice top end speed running down a few Amat players from behind.

He was rarely tested but showed nice closing speed and when you look at his physical gifts and the fact that he has two more years to develop, he's definitely a very intriguing prospect.

On the recruiting front, Samuel is hearing from a handful of schools and you can expect that list to grow rapidly over the spring.

"I've gotten letters from UCLA, Tennessee, California, Colorado, New Mexico State and USC," Samuel said. "USC was actually at my last game filming me and I grew a USC fan but I like UCLA now too because of Jim Mora.

"I've been to games at both USC and UCLA this season so I'm very interested in both local schools. I'm open to everyone though, it's early for me so I plan to be pretty pro-active with the recruiting process. I'm going to do as many camps as I can next spring to see some schools and play this process out."
